Wizardz Winnerz

The great and glorious Wizardo returns to the BDFL in 2026 with his weekly game progostications

Wizardz Winnerz is back for another run

MIDDLE EARTH - He's back! To the surface. The great and glorious Wizardo is returning to the BDFL to resume his thrashing of the Evil Las Vegas Oddsmakers (ELVO) with his undeniably brilliant "prognosticatory" skills during the upcoming 2026 BDFL season. ELVO and their crafty staff of number-crunchers will research and handicap the BDFL match-ups each week and publish the official lines/spreads. Then on TheBDFL.com's Wizardz Winnerz page, each weekly BDFL match-up will contain a witty blurb and prognostication from the "Great One" with two, or three, games (at the Great Wizardo's sole discretion, of course) receiving a more in-depth prognostication. The gauntlet has been thrown down. May the best man win the BDFL's 2026 Prognosticator of the Year (POTY) Award.

Week 5 Wizardz Winnerz...

Vulcans v. Freebirds

Jaimie Hand and the “Fultondale Free Turds” rested on their laurels in Week 4 and paid the price but will pry their collective heads out of their backside in time to vanquish the Vulcans while repeatedly asking Nicholas, “Who’s ya’ Daddy?”.

Wizard’s Winner…the Freebirds.

Bandits v. Sloth Monsters

Barry Stephenson and the “Bandits on the Run” fell victim to the Bullets last weekend despite hangin’ in until the bitter end. Unfortunately for Barry, hangin’ around is what Mike Dismukes and the Sloth Monsters do best.

Wizard’s Winner…the Sloth Monsters.

Cheetahs v. Grenades

A pair of Graybeard Division rivals square off on Sunday when Chris Hand and the “Wolf Backs” welcome Butch Neal’s “Spotted Felines” to T-town. Assuming Nick Saban allows Chris to forgo fetching him his customary Mt. Dew from Jiffy Chek on Sunday, the Grenades will be available to cage the Cats and secure braggin’ rights.

Wizard’s Winner…the Grenades.

PowerSleds v. Mayors

Jack Barnes and the “Lightning Bolts” cut an impressive jag across the Sunday afternoon sky in Week 4 and hope lightning will strike twice in Week 5 when the “Barn Stormin’ Bureaucrats” welcome them to Legion Field. Unfortunately for the home team, the “Football Capital of the South” has long since lost its luster, as have the Mayors.

Wizard’s Winner…the PowerSleds.

Bellcows v. Bullets

Bullet and the “Saturday Night Specials” ain’t good for nuthin’ but puttin’ a man six feet in a hole, but it was good enough to edge the Bandits in a Week 4 shootout. However, it’ll take more firepower than the Bullets’ cold, blue barrels to take down David Belrose’s “Bovine  Belles of the Ball”.

Wizard’s Winner…the Bellcows.

Armadillos v. Gamblers

Bein’ born in the backseat of a Greyhound Bus rollin’ down Highway 41 was a humble beginning for Kenny Breal and the “Nawlins Ragin’ Cajuns” and their lack of table etiquette will show when Kurt Prewitt’s Armadillos invite them for a cup of tea Sunday afternoon. Texas tea to be precise.

Wizard’s Winner…the Armadillos.

Juggernauts v. Dogs

Something must give when the “Resistible Force” meets the “Movable Object” in a Week 5 matchup of two teams going nowhere fast, and the Great Wizardo says the Dogs will blink first.

Wizard’s Winner…the Juggernauts.

Wildcats v. Blitz

Jerry James and the “Magic City Mountain Lions” plan to mark some new territory this weekend when they hit the road for a Week 5 matchup, but may find a steady diet of the “Grits Blitz” is not to their liking. Fortunately for Jerry, the Cats will be able to choke down just enough to win. And cover.

Wizard’s Winners…the Wildcats.
